The superheroes of Kurunegala, Sri Lanka, are the result of a project initiated by designer Alexa Lixfeld. She worked and lived with the community, which was dreaming of building a new school that would be accessible to all. From dream to design; Small children drew their favorite superheroes, which are now transformed into dolls, made from local fabrics and by local women After the dolls were completed, they were named by their young creators, and are now sold by the Selyn Socio-Economic Development Foundation, to raise money for several schools and projects.
